A Vietnam tourist visa is required for all Australian passport holders coming to Vietnam for tourism. The first option to apply a valid Vietnam tourist visa for Australian citizens is to get Vietnam Visa on Arrival which has been preferred by a lot of travelers around the world for its convenience, simplicity, fast processing and time-saving. This type of visa only works when Australians enter Vietnam by airplane through any of 4 international airports in Hanoi, Da Nang, Nha Trang and Ho Chi Minh City.
With this option, travelers will need to apply online to get a Visa Approval Letter beforehand and then get visa stamped on passport upon arrival at Vietnam airport. You have to pay service fee online in order to get the Visa Approval Letter with your Credit/ Debit Card /PayPal or pay via Western Union. This fee would vary depending upon your visa type, a number of applicants and processing time, about 15USD-30USD/ per person.
At Vietnam International Airport, you must pay stamping fee in cash to Immigration Officer to get visa stamped. The rate is publicly announced in Government website and you will receive a red bill for the payment.
*Stamping fee at the airport (price per person)
US$25.00 for single entry 1 month/3 month
US$50.00 for multiple entry 1 month/3 month
