Most visitors to Vietnam require a visa to enter the country. However, the UK citizens are exempted from visa to Vietnam. As long as you meet the requirements of relevant Vietnamese laws and travel for tourism or business, you can enter Vietnam for up to maximum 45 days (inclusive of dates of entry and exit) without a visa. You just use your passport and can enter Vietnam by any ports including air, land and sea.
If you want to stay more than 45 days, you need to get an e-visa before you travel. This is the fastest and most convenient method. You just stay at home, access the Internet, apply online and it is done in couple of minutes. All you need to do is to fill in the secured Vietnam visa application form online with required information such as your full name, date of birth, passport number, arrival date… You are also required to enter the exact personal information of the applicant(s) in order for the Immigration Department to issue Visa Approval Letter. And then make payment for the service fee. You can make payment with your Credit/ Debit Card /PayPal or pay via Western Union.
Starting from August 15, 2023, the UK citizens will be able to enter Vietnam without a visa and stay for up to 45 days. This is a result of the new visa policy that Vietnam has implemented to attract more tourists and promote cultural exchange.
But, use of the e-visa is limited to certain entry/exit points which you must select at the time of application. If you don’t have fixed travel plans, consider applying for a regular single entry visa from Vietnamese Embassy, which allows more flexibility. Bring your valid passport to the nearest Vietnamese Embassy and you will be instructed step by step there. Once you have submitted your application, you will have to go back to the embassy to pick up your stamped visa after several days.
