Opened about one year ago, De Vu has already attracted a wide range of customers, especially hip young working girls and female expats in town.
Located in busy Thai Phien Street, next to Vincom Ba Trieu, the bakery-cum-tea house has an impressive elegant décor, with almost everything in white, from the shelved to the tables, sofas, the tea chest, ceramics, and of course, the flowers. A fireplace and bookshelf dominate one wall on the second floor, with two royal-style soft couches and a table. ‘British Royal’ is the theme throughout, in its décor, atmosphere, an also the menu.
Apart from traditional cakes like Tiramisu, Opera, Lave Cave with Raspberry stuffing, De Vu’s Signature, New York cheesecake and brownie cheesecake etc., it also offers an English-style afternoon tea set for summer, featuring imported black tea mixed with dried flowers and fruit at VND85,000/ set. In order to diversify its services, the tea house has recently introduced an express set lunch at VND145,000, featuring a starter with choices pf salmon cake, apple salad with grilled chicken or soup of the day, a main course of grilled pork chop, beef Bourguignon, stir-fried noodles with beef, or grilled basa fish with bacon creamy sauce, among others, and a dessert of De Vu cake, seasonal fresh fruit, or pannacotta.
