Cai Rang is one of the most famous floating markets of the southwest in Vietnam. It specializes in selling fruits and agricultural products of the whole region.
There are more commercial activities, thus providing the chance to see the hustle and bustle and business of hundreds of small boats, motorized boat, and even canoes. Most of the boats here are packed with a lot of farm products and specialties of Cai Rang such as vegetables, coconut, banana, watermelon, grapefruit, and dragon fruit and so on.
There are also some small boats serving soft drink, wine, and food. Other services and products like mending machine, selling gasoline, oil, salted fish, medicines, confectionery, salt, clothes, cosmetic, spicy, etc. are available here.
Cai Rang market will begin early in the morning, from 5 am until midday. If you want to visit the market at the most exciting moment and catch the liveliest scenery, you have to get up early. Just 6km from Can Tho, tourists can reach there by boat with 30 minutes. While cruising on the river, you will see painted boats which are anchored along the shore, merchant vessels and houses built on stilts over the water.
The uniqueness of the floating market leaves good impressions to travelers, especially foreigners.
