1. How to get to Vietnam from the Dublin, Ireland

The fastest and the most convenient way to travel great distance of more than 10,000 kilometers from the Dublin, Ireland to Vietnam is by airplane. There is no direct fly from Dublin to Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh city. You can catch flights from big cities in UK such as London (from both London Heathrow and London Gatwick Airport), Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester and Birmingham to Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City - the two biggest cities of Vietnam.
Or you can cactch flight from Dublin to Dubai, UAE - Doha, Qatar - Hongkong and then from there to Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh city.
Airfares always depend on the season, with the highest generally being July to August, during the Christmas, New Year holidays and around Lunar New Year. Fares drop during the shoulder season from August to mid-October and in the low season from May to July, airlines may offer some special promotions. The price is about $1000 US for a roundtrip ticket.

- Emirate Airlines: fly from Dublin, Ireland to Dubai, UAE (transit) then fly from Dubai, UAE to Hanoi, Vietnam (or Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam)
- Qatar Airlines: fly from Dublin, Ireland to Doha, Qatar (transit) then fly from Doha, Qatar to Hanoi, Vietnam (or Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam).
- Cathay Pacific Airlines: fly from Dublin, Ireland to Hong Kong (transit) then fly from Hong Kong to Hanoi, Vietnam (or Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam).

2. Vietnam Visa for Irish citizen

Most of Irish citizens are required to apply visa before travel to Vietnam. Citizens of Ireland can apply for a visa to Vietnam in 3 different ways:
1. Apply for a visa to Vietnam through a travel agent in Ireland or through an online visa processors like Vietnam Tour using Ireland passport.
2. Apply for a Vietnam visa in person at the nearest embassy of Vietnam in United Kingdom. Kindly be advised that the procedures and fees are subject to be changed depending on where you apply.
3. Apply for a visa on arrival to Vietnam from Ireland online (Note: It is available for traveling to Vietnam by air only).
Holders of United Kingdom passports travelling for tourism can enter Vietnam up to a maximum of 15 days, inclusive of dates of entry and exit, without a visa.
For visits of up to 30 days, you can get an e-visa online before you travel. However, use of the e-visa is limited to certain entry/ exit points which you must select at the time of application. If you don’t have fixed travel plans, consider applying for a regular single entry visa from the nearest Vietnamese Embassy, which allows more flexibility.
For visits of longer than 30 days, you are obliged to obtain a visa from Vietnamese Embassy before travelling to Vietnam.
